Caribbean Cultural Association Celebrating The Holidays

NORTH TAMPA - Members and supporters of the Caribbean Cultural Association will celebrate the holiday season with several events. All are open to the public.

The Grown & Sexy Christmas Party - Island Style will be at 11 p.m. today at the Jerk Hut Island Grille and Mojito Bar, 2101 E. Fowler Ave. DJ Kirky-C and DJ Spice will be featured.

The Pre-New Year's Eve Party will be at 10 p.m. Dec. 29 at the Tara Roti Shop, 10006 N. 30th St.

A New Year's Eve Celebration will be at the Jerk Hut beginning at 11 p.m. Dec. 31. It will include music by DJ Kirky-C, a buffet, champagne, hors d'oeuvres and party favor.

The club also will have its New Year's Eve Extravaganza at the West Tampa Convention Center, 3005 W. Columbus Drive.

The black-tie event, from 9 p.m. Dec. 31 to 3 a.m. Jan. 1, includes dinner, dancing and a champagne toast. Prizes will be awarded for the best-dressed and the best dance couple.

New Year's Eve Parties Planned As Fundraisers

CHANNEL DISTRICT - The Florida Aquarium, 701 Channelside Drive, will host Aqua Eve, a party with food and drinks, as well as fireworks over the waterfront.

The event begins at 9 p.m. Dec. 31 and benefits the aquarium's programs. Tickets are $80 through Sunday and $100 afterward.

The 13 Ugly Men will sponsor the Resolution Ball at the Renaissance Tampa Hotel International Plaza, 4200 Jim Walter Blvd.

The party, from 8:30 p.m. Dec. 31 to 3 a.m. Jan. 1, includes food, beverages, dancing, a champagne toast at midnight and a buffet breakfast.

The event is black-tie-optional, and tickets are $125 for women and $175 for men. It benefits the Children's Dream Fund. For tickets, visit www.13uglymen.com.

Event Raises Money For Project

TEMPLE TERRACE - The recent Sunday in the Park and a campaign to raise money for the Sincerely, Santa program has reached $9,159.

The Temple Terrace Garden Club sponsored the event and the campaign.

The garden club's next meeting will be at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 9 when Marina D'Abreau of the Hillsborough County Extension Service presents a program on "Nine Steps to a Florida Garden."

The meeting, open to the public, is at Woodmont Park, 415 Woodmont Ave.

The club will hold a workday from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Jan. 16 at Woodmont Park.

TGH Foundation Holding Night At The Circus

CHANNEL DISTRICT - Tampa General Hospital will team with the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus for the 17th annual Night at the Circus.

The event will be Jan. 3 at the St. Pete Times Forum, 401 Channelside Drive. An animal open house is at 6 p.m., a preshow is at 6:30, and the circus begins at 7:30 p.m.

The fundraiser will benefit the hospital's neonatal intensive care unit, which last year received $184,000 from the event. Sponsorships ran from $500 to $10,000. For details, call (813) 844-7273.

Bead Sale, Party Planned For Dec. 29

PALMA CEIA - The Bead Barn will host its annual Bead Sale Extravaganza and Tailgate Party, formerly known as Bead Fling, from 6 to 10 p.m. Dec. 29.

All krewes are invited to the event at 3015 W. Barcelona St.

The party with music and food is free, but donations will be accepted for charities serving children. For details, call (813) 832-6620.
