NEW TAMPA - October is Fire Prevention Month, and the New Tampa Junior Woman's Club has teamed with Tampa Fire Rescue for a community awareness program today.
The event will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Fire Station 21, 18902 Green Pine Lane, off Cross Creek Boulevard just east of Bruce B. Downs Boulevard.
The informational event will include displays, firetrucks and participation by Tampa Fire Rescue's search-and-rescue dog team, the Southwest Florida Blood Bank bloodmobile, Community Emergency Response Team and the University Community Hospital Health Resource Bus.
'The event is open to the public and should be great fun for children of all ages,' said Tampa Fire Rescue spokesman Capt. Bill Wade.
