TEMPLE TERRACE - City council gave its stamp of approval Tuesday to 11 improvement grant requests submitted by Temple Terrace area schools.
The grants, totaling $7,300.07, were those selected by the School Support Committee from among 40 applications.
It is the first of two city allotments totaling $15,000 for 2007-08 school year.
The grants and their associated programs are:
•$1,000 for Lewis Elementary School's Blast Away Into the Endless World of Math.
•$984.85 for Riverhills Elementary School's Math & Reading Connection.
•$549.90 for Greco Middle School's Fractions & Decimals.
•$215 for Greco Middle School's Fun with Zeus and Hera.
•$970.77 for Greco Middle School's Our Melting Pot of Cultures.
•$898 for Greco Middle School's An Elmo Projector Would Tickle Me.
•$500 for Greco Middle School's Get Ready for Research.
•$250 for Terrace Community Middle School's Owning Up.
•$431.55 for Terrace Community Middle School's Mythbusters: Real Life Science.
•$1,000 for King High School's SURF Into Reading.
•$500 for King High School's Personal Art Journal.
