TEMPLE TERRACE - Temple Terrace Woman's Club President Marge Groene refers to fellow club member Anne Green as an "unsung hero."
In 1991, Green founded the organization's annual Spring Boutique, a fundraising event that this year netted close to $7,500, proceeds that were equally divided among Tampa Bay Tech, King High and Greco Middle schools. Every other year, the proceeds are donated to Temple Terrace's three elementary schools.

"I saw a need to help our local schools raise funds for items directly impacting students which were not covered by funds from the county or state," she said.
Green also has had a hand in promoting the arts in Temple Terrace. She's served as president, vice president and treasurer of the Temple Terrace Arts Council for more than 10 years. In recent years, she's tackled the time-consuming task of coordinating artists' applications for the annual Temple Terrace Arts Festival, which this year drew more than 130 artists from throughout the country. Proceeds provide funding for art classes at the Temple Terrace Family Recreation Complex and for artwork sold at the Temple Terrace Art Auction, a yearly affair that puts art into many homes and businesses.
"Ann is willing to do anything she's asked, and she takes the jobs nobody else wants," said Linda Beckman, president of the arts council. "She's always on the lookout for new artists and she even keeps a scrapbook of all our events."
