TEMPLE TERRACE – City officials are inviting residents to a town hall meeting on Thursday to address the property tax proposal Florida voters will be asked to consider on the presidential primary ballot this month.
Mayor Joe Affronti, city council members and City Manager Kim Leinbach are scheduled to attend the 7 p.m. meeting at the Lightfoot Recreation Center, 10901 N. 56th St.
City leaders, including the department heads and key staff members, will be available to explain the tax proposal and examine its potential impact on homeowners and city government, Temple Terrace spokesman Michael Dunn said in a release. They also will answer questions on city services.
Leinbach will present an update on the state of the city and the downtown redevelopment project, the release said.
Early voting for the Jan. 29 presidential primary is under way at polling places across Hillsborough County, including the Temple Terrace Public Library, 202 Bullard Parkway.
All Florida voters are eligible to vote on the property tax proposal, however, only registered Democrats and Republicans can vote in the presidential primary.
