NEW TAMPA - Discount retailer Ross will open its newest Tampa store Friday in the Market Square shopping center.
The California-based company has been expanding rapidly in Florida, where it has nearly 100 stores.
"We plan to continue to grow in Florida: We opened about 10 stores last year and plan a similar number of openings this year," company spokeswoman Ginger Jeffers said.
The 30,000-square-foot department store just south of the Bruce B. Downs Boulevard/Interstate 75 interchange will create up to 45 jobs.
It will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
