NORTH TAMPA - The All People's Life Center has received the Karen Jacobs Outstanding Accessible Places for People Award from the Hillsborough County Alliance for Citizens With Disabilities.
The award was presented Saturday at the Disability Awareness Expo at the Museum of Science & Industry.
The award is named for the late Karen Jacobs, a wheelchair athlete who worked to improve access to places for people with disabilities.
All People's Life Center, 6105 E. Sligh Ave., is a county recreational facility for people with disabilities. It was recognized earlier this month by the National Association of County Parks and Recreation Officials, receiving the Removing Barriers Initiative Award.
