NEW TAMPA - The Friends of the New Tampa Regional Library will host the second free Chocolate Extravaganza, with candy samples, baked goods and a chocolate fountain.
The public event will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the library, 10001 Cross Creek Blvd. It is a thank-you to the community for support of the library.
Soleil Chocolates will serve its gourmet chocolates, and Circles, New Tampa Bistro will offer fruits that can be dipped into a chocolate fountain. A mystery jar will contain M&M's, which will be won by the person who guesses the number of M&M's or has the closest guess.
Children's prizes of books, book bags and chocolates will be awarded in various contests and events.
Last year's inaugural event drew almost 1,000 guests.

Women's Club Will Present Checks
TAMPA PALMS - The Tampa Palms Women's Club will have a potluck luncheon on Thursday to present checks to several nonprofit organizations and scholarship recipients.
The 11 a.m. luncheon will be at Compton, 16101 Compton Drive. The club will suspend meetings until September. Information is available at (813) 978-0503.
Dealership Hosts Family Event
NORTH TAMPA - Northgate Lincoln Mercury will host Community Appreciation Day from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. today.
The free family festival at 10505 N. Florida Ave. is in partnership with The Humane Society of Tampa Bay, the American Red Cross, Groovy Cats and Dogs and Papa John's Pizza.
The Humane Society of Tampa Bay will be onsite with its mobile adopt-a-pet bus; the Red Cross will collect donations for disaster relief and provide pet first -aid demonstrations from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
StreetSentz child ID kit, complete with fingerprinting and photo identification, will be available, and free goodie bags, containing sample products and a variety of treats for dogs, will be distributed. Entertainment will include a miniature golf contest for prizes. Refreshments will be provided.
Health Clinic Receives Donation
UNIVERSITY AREA - State Sen. Victor Crist, R-Tampa, who serves as chairman of the University Area Community Development Corp., recently presented a check for $5,000 to the University of South Florida Medical School's Bridge Health Clinic.
The student-run health clinic provides basic medical services to low-income residents who have no health insurance or other means of receiving care. It operates out of the University Area Community Health Center on North 22nd Street.
Skipper's Offers Fishing Clinic
UNIVERSITY AREA - A three-part Inshore Fishing School featuring Fred Everson is planned for 7 to 8 p.m. June 10, July 8 and Aug. 12 at Skipper's Smokehouse, 910 Skipper Road.
Everson, a fishing boat captain, has provided guide service since 1995 and writes about fishing for statewide magazines. His classes will focus on casting, selection of rods and reels, baits and what fish are available during the different seasons.
The course is $25 and includes a copy of his book "Fish the Flats." Registration is needed by calling (813) 971-0666.
Domestic Violence Topic At Meeting
HUNTER'S GREEN - Jena Donofrio Hudson, a lawyer with Bay Area Legal Services, will be the speaker at the meeting June 12 of the North East Tampa Women in Business.
Hudson will speak about domestic violence at a 6 p.m. meeting, open to members and guests, at the Hunter's Green Golf & Country Club, 18101 Longwater Run Drive.
Reservations are $22 for members, $25 for guests if made through Friday. After Friday, they are $25 for members and $28 for guests. Reservations can be made at www.netwib.org. For information, call Debbie Holley at (813) 451-8023.
Chamber President Speaks At Rotary
TAMPA PALMS - Carol Rehfelt, president of the North Tampa Chamber of Commerce, will speak at Friday's meeting of the Rotary Club of New Tampa.
She will talk about Building a Better Community Through Your Chamber at the 7 a.m. breakfast meeting at the Tampa Palms Golf & Country Club, 5811 Tampa Palms Blvd.
The club is for professional and business leaders who live, work or are retired in the New Tampa area.
