TEMPLE TERRACE - The Greater Temple Terrace Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for the Ed Hanna Business of the Year Award.
The recognition will be announced at the Jan. 21 chamber luncheon at the Temple Terrace Golf & Country Club, 200 S. Inverness Ave.
To be eligible, a business must be privately owned and in operation for at least three years. It will be judged on its growth in staff and facilities; economic effect on Temple Terrace and community involvement.

Event At Skipper's Honors Frank Sargeant
NORTH TAMPA - Frank Sargeant, who retired recently after 24 years as The Tampa Tribune's outdoor editor, will be honored at a party at 5 p.m. Sunday at Skipper's Smokehouse, 910 Skipper Road.
Fishing Captain Mel Berman will be master of ceremonies, and captains Bill Miller and Glen Pla will be among the guests. Entertainment will be provided by De Lei'ed Parrots.
A $10 donation will benefit the Coastal Conservation Association
Event Benefits USF Geriatric Program
SOUTH TAMPA - A French theme celebration, A Night In Paris, will benefit the University of South Florida Division of Geriatric Medicine.
The dinner party and silent auction will be 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Tampa Yacht and Country Club, 5310 Interbay Blvd. Guests will have cocktails in a Left Bank Bistro setting and dinner in a Versailles room. Author Dudley Clendinen is the speaker.
Vince Perron is chairman of the committee, which includes Paula Wilson and Lourdes Rodriquez.
Boutique Vendors Sought For Market
WESLEY CHAPEL - The New Tampa Junior Woman's Club will host Mistletoe Market, a boutique event set for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 6 in the parking lot of Fifth/Third Bank at the Shops of Wiregrass, 2022 Bruce B. Downs Blvd.

Organizing Topic Of Meeting
HUNTERS GREEN - Susan Layden of Susan's Organizing Solutions will be the speaker for the Nov. 13 meeting of the North East Tampa Women in Business.
She will speak about how to deal with routine organizational challenges, including what to do with holiday decorations, at the 6 p.m. meeting at Hunter's Green Golf & Country Club, 18101 Longwater Run Drive.
Registration is $22 for members and $25 for guests by Friday and $25 for members and $28 for guests after Friday.

Parks Group Program Focuses On Littering
Christine Commerce, executive director of Keep Hillsborough County Beautiful, will speak at Thursday's meeting of the Friends of Temple Terrace Parks and Recreation.
Commerce will talk about how litter affects our community and offer tips on keeping communities safe and clean at the 7 p.m. meeting at the Temple Terrace United Methodist Church, 5030 E. Busch Blvd.

Musicale Program Features Operatic Music
PALMA CEIA - The Friday Morning Musicale of Tampa and the University of South Florida Student Opera Program have teamed to present music from "Carmen," "The Magic Flute," "Hansel and Gretel," "LaTraviata," "Die Fledermaus" and other operas.
The free presentation, open to the pubic, will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Friday Morning Musicale, 809 Horatio St.
Jack Rain will be the featured pianist, and Won Cho, director of USF Opera, will be the narrator.
Lunch will be served after the program. The cost is $5; reservations are needed and available by calling (813) 258-4752.
