Readers at TBO.com had a lot to say about the Hillsborough County School Board's recent decision to select Strawberry Crest as the name for a new high school under construction off Interstate 4 east of McIntosh Road.
Retired school board member Joe Newsome, who along with other family members farmed some of the land where the school is being built, pushed for the name Strawberry Crest. Others lobbied to have the school named for the late Osburn M. Griffin, who farmed other parts of the campus.
The school opens in August.
