TAMPA PALMS - Pants to party gowns were the fashions of the day when the Tampa Palms Women's Club held its annual charity fashion show and luncheon.
Club members, along with representatives of the Outreach Assisting Students in Schools, or OASIS, modeled casual wear, dresses and evening gowns at April 16 event at Tampa Palms Golf & Country Club.
About 150 guests attended the event, which featured clothes from Dillard's at The Shops of Wiregrass.
Kathy Applebee, the store's manager, served as the show's narrator, and club President Meg Collins was the mistress of ceremonies of the event.
"These ladies are really fun," Applebee said, adding they had been able to choose the clothes they wanted to model.
"We will see a trend in orange this year," Applebee said. "And the maxi dresses are really in style."
The event, chaired by Judy Alkow, raised money for OASIS Network, which provides essentials such as clothing, school supplies and personal care items to children and families in schools.
A total amount raised had not been totaled but a live auction at the event garnered more than $600 for the cause.
