Man Accused Of Raping Woman At Cemetery

William Koenig forced a woman to have sex with him in a cemetery this morning, Temple Terrace police say.

About 4 a.m., he removed the woman's clothing at a cemetery behind 8727 Overlook Drive and forced the woman to have sex while she was under the influence of alcohol and was "physically helpless to resist," a criminal arrest affidavit states.

Officers arrested him at 5:27 a.m.

He was charged with sexual battery, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, battery and false imprisonment.

The woman suffered cuts and bruises on her hands and arms, according to the arrest affidavit.

About 40 minutes earlier, Koenig struck someone on the face and throat several times at Koenig's home, police say. The victim's nose broke. Koenig also stabbed a knife through a bedroom door multiple times, according to the affidavit.

The affidavits don't state if the sexual battery victim was involved in the earlier incident.

Koenig, 46, remained in Orient Road Jail today. His bail has not been set.
