TEMPLE TERRACE - A July 23 town hall meeting gave residents a chance to voice what they like and dislike about the city and what they want incorporated into the new downtown center.

The meeting also gave Vlass Temple Terrace LLC, the center's master developer, a chance to share details.

The audience's consensus about the city's assets are its family-friendly sense of community, its ethnic diversity and the Hillsborough River.

Cons are being called a bedroom community of Tampa and the unsightliness of 56th Street south of Bullard Parkway.
