TAMPA PALMS - Chabad of East Pasco and New Tampa held its first Grand Purim Bash on March 10 at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites in Highwoods Preserve, 8310 Galbreath Road.
Purim is an annual festival in celebration of the Jewish people's deliverance from the clutches of Haman, as recorded in the biblical book of Esther.
Residents dressed up as their favorite character from the story in the book of Esther or donned a disguise to celebrate the occasion.
The festival is all about having a good time, food and fellowship. The children were treated to a magic show, face painting and created balloon animals.
Chabad of East Pasco and New Tampa organized about nine months ago to cater to Jewish residents. The group meets at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites in Highwoods Preserve.
