Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and School held its annual Oktoberfest celebration Oct. 24.
The church and Christian school have celebrated the German traditional event on its campus at 304 Druid Hills Road in Temple Terrace for the past ten years.
Activities included family-oriented events, a rock climbing wall, live music, a giant slide, turkey bowling and food. More than 30 vendors and craft makers participated.
Students, along with the Rev. Waldemar Meyer of Christ Our Redeemer Church on the accordion, performed as the German "oom-pah" band. Traditional favorites such as brats, German potato salad, and strudel were served.
Founded in 1984, Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran School is accredited by the Florida-Georgia District Accreditation, LCMS, and provides Christian education for students in grades three through eight.
The school is offering free pre-kindergarten for the first time. Students are still being enrolled this academic year.
