TEMPLE TERRACE - Joe Affronti, the mayor of Temple Terrace, has accepted an invitation from Councillor Pamela Holden-Brown, mayor of the Borough of Eastleigh, England, for a sister city exchange visit.
An informational meeting about the visit is slated for 7 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall, 11250 N. 56th St.
The visit is scheduled from June 10-17. Participants will stay in the homes of host families.

Road race benefits veterans programs
USF CAMPUS - The second Veterans Memorial Road Race is Sunday at the University of South Florida Sun Dome.
Race day registration and package pickup begins at 7 a.m. The first race starts at 8.

Annual yard sale is Saturday
NORTH TAMPA - The Meadowood Condo Association will have its 17th annual yard sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
Busy week for social events
TAMPA - The next seven days are some of the busiest of the fall season for social events and fundraisers. Here are some of the events.
•Fifth annual Children's Crisis Center Breakfast, sponsored by the Mental Health Care Foundation.
Thursday's event is at the Hyatt Regency Downtown with registration at 7 a.m. and the program at 7:30. Tickets are $50 each and available at www.mhcinc.org.
•The 28th annual steak dinner honoring former Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Tony Dungy. The dinner will be at 6:45 p.m. Thursday at Desert Grill in Busch Gardens and benefits the Boys & Girls Club of Tampa Bay.

•Abe Brown Ministries' 26th annual celebration, with speaker Walter A. McNeil, secretary of the Florida Department of Corrections.

•22nd annual Puttin' on the Glitz, which benefits the PhoneFriend a program for latchkey children through Northside Mental Health Center.

•Celebrating Life ... A Flamenco Night, benefiting the Division of Gerontology at the University of South Florida's School of Medicine.
The third annual dinner event is at 6 p.m. Friday at the Tampa Yacht & Country Club, 5310 Interbay Blvd. The speaker is Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio.

•Dessert First Adventure Bash, benefitting Girl Scouts.
The sixth annual event is at 7 p.m. Friday at the InterContinental Hotel, 4860 W. Kennedy Blvd. Eight chefs will create Girl Scout cookie-themed desserts.

•The 23rd annual Zoofari at Lowry Park Zoo.
The event at 7 p.m. Saturday at the zoo, 1101 W. Sligh Ave., features food samples and live music, including Sister Hazel.

•Tampa Museum of Art's Evening in the Park.

•Annual Silver Coffee, sponsored by the Red Cross Angels.

•Treasured Lives breakfast, sponsored by the LifeLink Legacy Fund.
The event is from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Tampa Yacht & Country Club, 5310 Interbay Blvd.

Florida Outreach topic of meeting
HUNTER'S GREEN - Emily Taylor-Snell will talk about Florida Outreach for the deaf and blind at Thursday's meeting of the Tampa Evening Rotary.
