The GFWC Temple Terrace Junior Woman's Club held a successful Book Exchange at the Oct. 10 Terrace Reads event.
The Book Exchange is an opportunity for children to turn in used books to receive vouchers for new ones. It is a way to recycle books and support education and reading.
Terrace Reads is a community event to promote literacy in Temple Terrace. The event is held in conjunction with the Temple Terrace Fire Department open house.
The Temple Terrace Juniors distributed One Voice for Children emergency contact stickers to parents for infant and toddler car seats. The club also donates blue bears to the Temple Terrace Fire Department.
The club, associated with the General Federation of Women's Clubs, is an organization for civic-minded women 18 and older. The club conducts community projects, including the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life Temple Terrace, highway cleanup, the Book Exchange at Terrace Reads, Teacher Appreciation Week, the Heritage Ornament Project, the 50th Anniversary Cookbook, the bus bench project and more.
The club meets at 7 p.m. the third Thursday of the month from August to May at Woodmont Clubhouse, 415 Woodmont Ave.
