NEW TAMPA - Sweetbay Supermarket kicked off the new school year with an event aimed at encouraging healthful living.
Sweetbay provided demonstrations and special activities for schoolchildren and parents at the new store, 6425 County Line Road, just west of Bruce B. Downs Boulevard, from Aug. 8-15.
Parents got an opportunity to shop while their children were able to get a school physical provided by the USF Health Neighborhood Care Center at a discount price.
In addition to the health screenings, the back-to-school event included learning how to pack a healthy lunchbox with the help of a licensed dietician, cooking demonstrations by Tampa Bay's Hungry Housewife Leslie Green, a free fitness test and aerobics demonstrations by LA Fitness.
