A recent letter home to parents of Gorrie Elementary School students has spurred much virtual conversation among TBO.com users. The letter from Gorrie administrators warned parents that some of the school's fifth-graders had Facebook pages with sexual innuendos, curse words and links to inappropriate sites. School officials followed up with a presentation last week by Hillsborough County sheriff's Detective Phil DuBord at Wilson Middle School. DuBord told about 65 parents: "The best thing is to not put any information on your personal site." ...more

Aerial photographs of the collapsing World Trade Center were released this week. They were taken by then-Detective Greg Semendinger from a New York Police Department helicopter on Sept. 11, 2001. They were obtained by ABC after it filed a Freedom of Information Act request last year with the federal agency that investigated the collapse. ...more
