At least one neighborhood has decided to fight a school's plan to build a cell tower on its campus. Residents of Plantation off Gunn Highway have hired an attorney to fight Canella Elementary School's proposal to build a tower on its campus. The school wants to build the 160-foot tower near a corner of the property as a way to raise money. But neighbors are concerned about how the tower will look and possible health risks. Several residents met with Canella's principal and the project director to discuss the plan. School leaders offered a compromise to make the tower look like a large flag pole. ...more
