If a bad transmission renders a $30,000 car inoperable, the entire car could be remanufactured, or the transmission could be repaired (if it isn't broke, don't fix it!) Ninety-two percent of the home buyers are meeting their mortgage payments. Three percent were initially qualified buyers who have fallen on hard times and need temporary assistance. The remaining 5 percent were not and are not qualified to buy the house. Such houses should be foreclosed so that qualified buyers can purchase the houses.
